John Skye é um atleta PWA que se vai manter em contacto com Portugal através de conquilha.com. Skye K-57 vai contar-nos na 1ª pessoa o que é estar no circuito PWA e dar a sua opinião sobre o decorrer dos diversos eventos.

“It’s been an incredible month for me. Firstly having moved to Naish sails I now have everything brand new which is a nice feeling. The gear is amazing. It looks good, sails good and so far has been strong.

The first trip with the new gear was to Cape Verde for the first contest of the year. The place is insane. Perfect waves and we had wind everyday! I think it’s the best surfing and sailing I have ever had. Unfortunately the contest didn’t go too well for me finishing a disappointing 25th, after losing on a split decision.

Still contests are contests and sometimes thing go your way, other times they don’t. It meant I could then enjoy the conditions without any worries, and manage to surf 2 hours every morning before the wind filled in.

The wave is perfect and makes you think you are Kelly Slater! So 2 hours surf, then a sail, then another sail and then another surf! It doesn’t get much better than this!!

From there I flew straight out to Maui for the Naish photo shoot. So far its not been too windy, but next week looks great so can’t wait to try all the new stuff. I have the new F2’s as well so it will be super fun!!!”
